Fifteen and halfway there!

Happy Friday once again!  I’ve made it to the halfway mark in my 30 in 30 challenge.  It’s going fast; there are pieces I haven’t even used yet.  It really makes me see the versatility of my own wardrobe.

Today’s outfit includes a plain long-sleeved tee from Ann Taylor.  I always wear these types of shirts out the fastest.  They are absolutes essentials, and I never seem to have enough.  I can’t believe I’ve held out until Day 15 to bust out this soft little navy piece.

The scarf comes from a market in Turkey, though I honestly cannot remember whether I bought it in Bursa or in Eskisehir.  It’s gorgeous and thick and I love draping it widely over my shoulders.  I remember sifting through piles and piles of elegant scarves before landing on this one.  I was so proud of it and for the rest of my senior year of college, I insisted on wearing it despite its being weather-inappropriate.  I ventured to Turkey with my chamber choir back in 2008 and immediately fell in love.  The markets are a wonderful part of the culture, and we all enjoyed trying out our haggling skills.  Not to mention the food was incredible.  This scarf will always serve as the lasting souvenir from that trip.  Though I’m sure my parents are still finding the evil eye trinkets hidden throughout their house.  Matt and I have one hanging in the office.

I had a quick goodbye coffee with my friend Jonna after work.  I’m sad to see her go, and I regret my not spending more time with her these last few months.  I won’t have much time to relax this weekend, but I’m still excited to put together a couple of great ensembles.  And now to bed; Maria and I are boxing bright and early!
